What is FreeMove? FreeMove is an alliance of some of the world’s leading mobile operators – Orange, Telecom Italia Mobile, T-Mobile and TeliaSonera, We formed the FreeMove alliance to take the complexity out of international mobile services. For international travellers we provide a seamless international roaming experience in many countries, ensuring your phone works abroad just as it does at home.
How does the alliance work?
The association is a legally incorporated entity with a clearly defined corporate governance structure. It is composed of a management team and practical working groups. FreeMove has a long term strategy to develop services and capabilities that provide real benefit to our customers.

Freemove Services
What is FreeMove’s current offer?
Currently FreeMove offers multi-national corporations a simple roaming package for voice and data services including BlackBerry® and FreeMove International Connect.
The offer extends to companies with its core offices in UK, France, Italy, Germany, The Netherlands, and Sweden. The scheme splits the world into a handful of geographical zones, each with a consistent call rate for calls made and received when users are roaming abroad, and for international calls made from their home countries. Call charges are network independent so it doesn’t matter which network users roam on and prices are extremely competitive.
The billing is straightforward and FreeMove provides centralised reporting tools offering a clear overview of your mobile activities in your key European countries. You can analyse calls and costs in detail or simply monitor your overall spend.
We never forget the human dimension of what we do. We’re committed to providing world-class service to all our customers. We have an international sales and bid management structure and process to make sure you get a focused response to your needs, as well as service performance indicators (SPIs) that enable us to demonstrate consistent and visible service quality across Europe. Our dedicated global account managers provide you with a single point of contact and work with your European/global contract manager and our national key-account managers in each country where FreeMove has signed a contract with your company.
Moving to FreeMove should be easy that’s why we appoint a dedicated account manager to support your company migration every step of the way, with minimum service disruption. Our Implementation Management is designed to ensure your changeover is as seamless as possible.
What are the benefits to an individual or a small to medium-sized business?
By using a FreeMove alliance member you will benefit from our commitment to making international roaming easier. Current benefits include dialling using your usual short codes, accessing voicemail and customer services as normal and being able to see who’s calling. You don’t even need to re-programme your saved numbers to make them work internationally. Just dial as usual.
All charges will depend on your mobile operator and the service package to suit your needs locally and abroad.
I already have a contract with a FreeMove member – what benefit do I get from FreeMove? And is it automatic?
As an individual or a small to medium-sized company you will be able choose a contract that includes a roaming package that suits you.
From now on the benefit of being a customer of a FreeMove alliance member is automatic, you don’t need to do anything. And in the future you can enjoy tailored offers aimed at you as a valued customer and frequent traveller.
Does FreeMove provide cheaper data roaming?
Pricing for data services will depend upon your local operator and the package you have selected. FreeMove helps alliance members develop international data services and has introduced attractive data and email offers for large multi-national clients.
Our roaming offer isn’t limited to voice. We can provide a similar offer which has the same focus on simplicity and good value for data services including both GPRS and BlackBerry.
Where can I use data/BlackBerry roaming?
BlackBerry roaming will depend on the country you are interested in. Check whether you can get data roaming.
What are the consistent European roaming tariffs for FreeMove customers?
The FreeMove voice and data roaming tariff for large multi-national customers is structured around a small number of geographical zones. Within each zone, you will have the same call charges for calls made while roaming, although these will, of course, vary depending upon the type and destination of the call (calls made and received when roaming abroad).
Do I get a new FreeMove phone number?
No, your contract will be with a FreeMove member and your phone number will be one allocated by that FreeMove member.
Do I get a new number for each country?
No, you keep the same phone number.
Is it possible to set my phone to automatically choose a FreeMove alliance member network when I am abroad?
Once abroad, your phone will normally connect automatically to a FreeMove member network but as our tariffs are independent of the network you connect to when roaming, you don’t need to worry.
