FreeMove Alliance Strengthens its International Footprint with MegaFon
Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, 14. February 2011: FreeMove, the mobile telecommunications alliance between Deutsche Telekom Group, France Telecom Orange Group, TeliaSonera and Telecom Italia today announced its partnership with leading Russian telecoms operator, MegaFon. The agreement will strengthen the alliance’s multinational offering by expanding its footprint to encompass the full Russian market, one of the world’s most dynamic economies.
With a subscriber base of 57 million, MegaFon is the second largest operator in Russia’s growing telecoms market, both in terms of subscriber numbers and revenue share, and is the clear market leader in the emerging mobile internet space, claiming 35,6% of total data revenue. Under the agreement, MegaFon will offer FreeMove’s advanced enterprise mobility solutions to its increasingly multinational client base.
